Educator. Framework creator. Founder.

Sharonna Shelton.

I teach, build, and design new ways for people to learn. I’m the creator of the Shelton Instructional Framework™ and a founder building new learning environments in Las Vegas.

My work starts with people—not programs.

Sharonna Shelton, MS, is an educator, leadership strategist, and founder of The Collective Leadership Academy of Excellence™. Drawing on her graduate research in industrial-organizational psychology and experience in education, she is reimagining schools where students discover their strengths, develop ownership, and lead community change.

Beyond the classroom, she served three years as Vice Chair of a charter school board of directors, and as Board President of No Racism in Schools 1865.

Sharonna teaches fifth-grade ELA, writing, and social studies in Las Vegas. She built the Shelton Instructional Framework for her own students first: a routine that teaches students to name their stuck point, choose a support, and retry, instead of landing on "I can't do it."

As a 2026 ODE Fellow in Opportunity 180's Design to EdRupt fellowship, she is now piloting SIF beyond her own classroom and collecting the evidence for what it does in other teachers' hands. That is what this launch window is for: the planner is free through November 19, 2026, and the feedback teachers send back is the data the framework grows on.

My ventures

Different expressions. One commitment: better learning environments.

Shelton Instructional Framework

My instructional IP for planning and guiding rigorous learning with clarity, support, and student ownership.

Standards are the what.
SIF is the how.

Bring SIF to your school
Free for teachers for 30 days

Through November 19, 2026, teachers can use the full framework free: the instructional loop, the classwork routine, and the reading routine. Planning with it? The SIF Lesson Planner turns your topic and standard into a complete SIF-structured plan, with the classroom slides and teacher script to match. Enter your email and the planner opens right here. All I ask in return: tell me how it went in your classroom.

CLAE

The Collective Leadership Academy of Excellence

A leadership-centered school concept being developed through the Opportunity 180 Design to EdRupt Fellowship—built around academic rigor, identity, relationships, and student voice.

Meet CLAE.

CLAE, The Collective Leadership Academy of Excellence, is the school I’m designing through Opportunity 180’s Design to EdRupt Fellowship. This one-minute welcome film is the heart of it: a school where students learn to name where they’re stuck, choose a support, and keep going until the work is theirs.

My ODE fellowship work is where the framework meets the future school: piloting SIF in real classrooms now, and building CLAE around what the evidence shows.

Welcome to CLAE: a one-minute film about the school, and the fellowship work behind it.

Let’s make the work useful on Monday morning.

I work with schools and organizations that want professional learning to be thoughtful, practical, and grounded in how people actually learn and work.

  • Professional-development workshops
  • Speaking and facilitated learning sessions
  • Instructional systems and framework conversations

Using SIF? Tell me how it went.

The framework gets better when teachers show me what it actually does in real classrooms. If you’ve used the loop, the classwork routine, or the reading routine, I want the honest version: what you tried, what your students did with it, and what you’d change.

That feedback is how SIF grows, and with your permission I’ll share teacher notes here so other teachers can learn from what’s working.

The first teacher notes will be posted here as they come in. Yours could be the first.
